Who they need

Regardless of you opinion of Ronaldo, he certainly leaves a hole in the Man Utd squad, combined with the loss of Carlos Tevez, there’s 40 goals a season, plus a prodigious amount of work and assists that no amount of Michael Owen or Antonio Valencia can replace. In spite of protestations to the contrary, we can be confident that there will be at least one expensive attacking player bought before the window snaps shut.

Who they don’t need

Fergie is unlikely to ship out any of the older guard, although they’re approaching the end of their usefulness. Some of the younger players are likely to be let out on loan.
