Will Edin Dzeko be swapping his Jetta for something more swish at Stamford Bridge?

Will Edin Dzeko be swapping his Jetta for something more swish at Stamford Bridge?

The 23 year old Bosnian has been one of the stars of this years Bundesliga, scoring up an amazing 25 goals in 28 appearances, and combining with his strike partner Grafite to knock in a total of 51 goals this season, catapaulting unfancied, unfashionable Wolfsburg to what looks very likely to be winner of the Bundesliga.

Dzeko is clearly a very desirable asset as well, he is 6′3″, fast with lovely composure.  On top of this, he also brings in the ability to hold up the ball and bring players in, a much fancied but rarely realised wish of many a premiership manager.  The only team with 1 such player are our friends from West London, Chelsea, who have slightly deranged Ivorian, filling those boots. Sadly for the blues, said Ivorian ain’t getting any younger, and with (admittedly hardly new) rumours of discontent Africa’s second best player, it seems a good time for Chelsea to start looking for a plan B.

The Torygraph has been unfairly describing him as the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic, although they are both large and Balkan, the similarities end there, Dzeko seems to be happy to run around and be a provider (6 assists thank you very much) as well as a scorer. He also doesn’t seem to think the sun shines out of his arse, yet, but give the lad time.

Sadly, if you’ve bothered to click through the previous link, you’ll have seen that the boy doesn’t seem interested:

“I know Chelsea want me and they have already spoken to my agent, but my dream is to play in Italy, with AC Milan or Juventus.”

That’s a bit of an FU to old Jose as well. As things stand there doesn’t seem to be much hope for the Blues, but we all know that Mr Abramowicz has a couple of million things that might change Dzeko’s mind.
