Will Zlatan be phoning it in at Camp Nou next season?

Will Zlatan be phoning it in at Camp Nou next season?

Well the horse has kind of bolted on this one, a bit of analysis is in order.  Ibrahimovic is a talented player, a phenomenally talented player, but his record implies he’s a bit of a flat track bully; he’s never scored in a European match and sometimes goes a little missing in big clashes in Serie A.

That being said, if anyone can get Zlatan playing for 90 minutes, every game, then Barca will have on their hands an attacking force as strong as there’s ever been, in the history of the game.  We look to Pep Guardiola, who has as good a chance as anyone to bring out the best in this phenomonally talented player.

Inter have not done too badly out of the deal, Samuel Eto’o’s strength, accuracy and searing pace are likely to scare the bejesus out of most defences in Serie A, and Hleb, who may find that the slower pace of the Italian League more suited to his talents.

The acquisition of Ibrahimovic is going to have a significant impact on the way Barca play, allowing Iniesta, Messi, Xavi & Henry to weave around the big Swede.  It’s also likely to have a big impact on the transfer market, Barca are unlikely to go for another forward, Inter are unlikely to go for another forward, which leaves David Villa’s future uncertain.  This may play into Mr Fegusons hands, dependent on whether Real continue to spend this summer.
